Diablo iv less cartoony1/22/2024 I have other games to play and a whole life outside. The runes give you more skill variations instead of the same tired ass spell, and then items provide even more variation and sometimes a whole new spell! I think it's great and I'm tired of people insisting it isn't as good because "it's not Diablo 2." I started in Diablo 1 back in '97. I'd rather see the same exact system expanded on to create even more variations in character builds than to be stuck with a skill tree that keeps fire bolt as the same vanilla ass firebolt forever. It's too item dependent and/or items aren't rare enough. I'm pretty sure exploding baskets of bloody skulls is dark as shit for tone. That happens when you sharpen up resolution. It's an ok Diablo sequel.īoo hoo, it's not as dark or gritty. I'm tired of people shitting on Diablo 3. Idk maybe it changed now but it was a different game. The game seemed too procedural in the end, D3. It was hard to find the hr's and when you finally ID'd a tals ammy or soj you shit your pants with excitement. I get that if they didn't change it enough people would complain about that too but I did feel like those were a couple of the things that made it great for me. Just rinse and repeat till you roll the right one. I didn't play much after a year or two but they gave out shards to buy random pieces and hopefully you got the right set piece. And going away from paragon levels as well as the way the gear ended up. Whether they're doing random attributes or going back to d2 style where runewords would have rng but the attributes were all guaranteed. Was there any info on the items? I haven't looked for too long kinda just started last weekend but I really wanna know if they're going with the d3 itemization. Oh wow you spoke to devs? That's awesome. There are other considerations I could make but you get the point.Ĭaring about the types of monster, the way there are positioned in the battlefield, what they are throwing at you IS relevant in a good arpg, and is the way to go to make d4 better then d3. mobs density in some builds are crucial to make them work, which is not only a demented design, but also extremely boring cuz the gameplay is the same.Plus not having those staggering mechanics limit the affix pool so theres less customization having no hit recovery or staggering mechanics reduce your survivability exclusively dipendent by you toughness pool and your skill rotation, that you complete over and over and over and over and over NO MATTER WHAT.there are litterally no difference at all in the way you approce a fight, mainly because every monster is the same.Let me extend on the d3 brainless combat: Was there a difference between the early seasons and the actual ones regarding gameplay? I dont think so, the game is the same. I still remember when D4 was first announced, people were thrilled partially because of how D4 had returned to its old dark, gory and gritty tone of D1/D2.Īctually I was in charts a couple of times I think in seasons 9 and 10 before giving up with the game □ so I know what Im talking about, believe me. Visual wise, I don't feel good about where it is heading.Įdit: Just to be perfectly clear, I'm in no way comparing this to D2/D2:R. Sorry if I get your mood down, but I have to take this off my chest. Overall, now the game feels more like a darker version of D3. I also do feel the lighting effect was different than now. There were no big numbers jumping around. The spell/skill effects were not overwhelming, yet still had strong visual impacts. Personally, I think in the first video, the art looked more mature and less cartoonish, made it feel like a new game with a fresh atmosphere. what it is right now, you'll see what I mean. But if you forget about all the hype and take your time to have a look at the gameplay when it was first announced vs. I have been hesitant to say this out loud because people seem to be so hyped about Diablo 4 lately.
